October 22nd, 2002 (Tuesday)

On Tuesday, I left Pelekas and Corfu, taking the ferry back to Igoumenitsa. I drove down the coast and stopped at the Nekromanteio of Afyra. This was a place where live people could come and talk to dead people. A church was later built on top of it.

The vault where the communication took place was down some steep stairs and it was creepy to be there alone.

This was a very travel intensive day with the ferry from Corfu, a tunnel under the water at Preveza, the ferry from Andirio to Rion (near Patras), and a bunch of driving between them all. I got to Olympia after dark and got a hotel and dinner.
